Imagine it’s late at night and you have free access to one of the city’s most elegant—and newly opened retail emporiums. What would you do? Throw a dinner party of course! And that’s exactly what Marc Metrick, Tracy Margolies, and Roopal Patel of Saks Fifth Avenue did last night at their Brookfield Place location just opposite One World Trade Center. Taking in the elegant offerings were a slew of New York’s most talented designers including Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School and DKNY, Ramon Martin of Tome, and Carol Lim and Humberto Leon of Kenzo and Opening Ceremony. After cocktails and light nibbles, a stylish crew including Kate Young, Brett Heyman, and Jacquelyn Jablonski headed to 10022-Shoe, Saks’s shoe salon, for a candlelit dinner. And what better way to enjoy a meal than with a string quartet. However, the Jingle Punks’s Hipster Orchestra switched things up, playing more Nirvana than Mozart much to the crowd’s delight.
